The Temple of Hypnos
A downloadable dungeon
The Temple of Hypnos is a small one-page dungeon for Return to Perinthos, submitted to the Jennell Jaquays Memorial Game Jam.
Cover image: The Kingdom of Hypnos, by Giulio Carpioni.
In the depths of Perinthos, there lived a small cult devoted to Hypnos, god of dreams. One day, horned invaders attacked the temple and the cultists cast a sleeping mist over their sanctuary to protect it. They have been asleep for ages, but perhaps their slumber comes soon to an end.
The dungeon has been designed to be played in one single session, and I haven't included any stats to make it easier to use it with any system. I was heavily inspired by the Chapel of Thanatos from The Caverns of Thracia, since I'm a big greek mythology nerd, and that one daedric quest from Skyrim, since I'm a big Skyrim nerd too.
The map doesn't have the best quality, but I hope it's readable. I tried to scan it in the highest resolution my printer allowed.
The room numbers have been taken from game-icons.net and are subject to the Creative Commons License. I give my permission for the Return to Perinthos crew to edit the dungeon as they need and see fit, as long as they properly credit it in the final product. If there's any issue with the document, I'll do my best to solve it. Thank you for doing this jam.
